Twin Lakes are natural lakes south of Leadville. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it was home to the Interlacken resort, which served the well healed from around the nation. Twin Lakes is the diversion point for Homestake, Ivanhoe, and Grizzly collection systems. Lower Arkansas River water is also exchanged up-stream for water drawn from Twin Lakes.

Directions

Take I-70 west to CO-91 South (exit 195 - 90.1 miles), then continue on CO-91 south to US.24 East (22.1 miles).& Take US-24 E to Colorado 83 (16.2 miles), and follow Colorado 82 west (6.4 miles).

Fee: $4 fee at Dexter Point boat ramp, Red Rooster parking/boat ramp, Mountain View overlook and Big Mac, Deception Point, Mount Elbert, Sunnyside and Whistler Point parking.
