Being a strong steward of Colorado’s water means getting involved. Learn about our many ongoing projects to improve our infrastructure, take a class on water conservation, or take part in one of our events. We have lot going on.

Household Chemical Roundup

The Household Chemical Roundup is an annual event that allows Aurora residents to safely and efficiently recycle or dispose of those items that can be harmful to people, pets and the environment — or just difficult to get rid of.

Although the 2021 roundup is canceled, click here for additional resources available to Aurora residents. 

High Line Canal Cleanup

The High Line Canal Cleanup is a volunteer event to clear trash and debris from the 12-mile stretch of canal that runs through Aurora. The event is typically held in April in observance of Earth Day.

Citizens’ Water Advisory Committee (CWAC)

CWAC tour of one of our water treatment facilities CWAC is appointed by the Aurora City Council to provide counsel and recommendations to Aurora Water on the budget, departmental work plans, operational needs, strategic planning, long-range capital improvements, financial planning and intergovernmental relations. CWAC meeting are open to the public and are jam-packed with interesting topics.

Applications will be accepted through the end of November, and interviews will be held in December. Committee applications and previous meeting agendas can be found at here.
