Take City Center Draft Plan Survey by July 31

Take City Center Draft Plan Survey by July 31
Posted on 07/15/2021

The city of Aurora is asking for feedback on its newly completed draft City Center Vision and Station Area Plan. The document and survey are available at AuroraGov.org/CityCenter, and the deadline to review is July 31.

The city in 2020 launched the development of a vision and plan for the City Center area, which is located east of I-225 and flanks Alameda Parkway to the north and south. Through this process, which included public outreach, the Aurora community and local stakeholders shared their desires for the area to grow into Aurora’s “downtown.”

More specifically, interest was expressed for the area to become a dynamic, connected urban center that offers a variety of shopping, dining and entertainment options, along with great paying jobs, desirable housing choices and convenient transportation options. This desired future is captured in the draft City Center plan.

Aurora’s City Center area has seen significant investment in new shopping, services and restaurants in recent years, including the new Parkside @ City Center transit-oriented development celebrating a grand opening in August. But there’s potentially much more to come, with much development interest in the area and opportunities for investment that could transform the area even further.

The city has created this draft vision and development framework for the area to help shape and support this development interest. Public input gathered via the survey will be evaluated as the plan is finalized.
