New COVID-19 Rapid Test Site Now Open
Posted on 10/05/2020

COVID-19 testing at the community-based site at the Aurora Sports Park ended Oct. 4. In its place, a smaller rapid testing site opened Monday, Oct. 5, in the parking lot at Restoration Christian Fellowship, 15660 E. Sixth Ave., and is designed specifically to provide free testing for those without insurance or who are experiencing homelessness.

The drive-up or walk-up testing will be offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays only through Dec. 7. No appointment is necessary, but only a limited amount of testing is available each day and is first come, first served. Advanced Urgent Care is providing the testing, and results will be available the same day.

Arapahoe County CARES dollars are funding the site, with logistical support from the city of Aurora and in partnership with Adams County.

COVID-19 testing is essential for identifying and tracking cases and outbreaks quickly while also providing treatment options and isolation to prevent spread.

Because testing is so critical during this public health crisis, the city of Aurora is supporting the state’s efforts to make free testing widely available and accessible as part of a broader approach to prevent spread while allowing for a continued increase in economic activity and ensuring ample capacity at local hospitals.

Several testing options are available in Arapahoe, Adams and Douglas counties. Visit Tri-County Health Department's testing site webpage for details.
