Changes to Court Operations Due to COVID-19

Due to public health precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Aurora Municipal Court has issued the following orders, effective Nov. 30:

1. All Aurora Municipal Court Trials, both jury trials and trials to a judge, currently scheduled between Nov. 30, 2020, and Jan. 18, 2021, will be POSTPONED.  
Trials to a Judge:  If you have a trial to a judge currently scheduled between Nov. 30, 2020, and Jan. 18, 2021, PLEASE do NOT come to the courthouse in person. Please check what DIVISION you are currently scheduled for.  On the day and time of your scheduled court date, please click on the applicable WebEx link below:

AFTER clicking on the WebEx link, please follow the instructions for entering the virtual courtroom. PLEASE remain muted until your name is called by the Judge.

If you do NOT have the electronic capability to appear by WebEx, please call the Aurora Municipal Court at 303.739.6421 (Option 1 for Virtual Court, Option 4 for Docketing), or by text at 720.704.0100 or by email at virtualcourt@auroragov.org to reschedule your trial.

Jury Trials:  If you have a Jury Trial scheduled between Nov. 30, 2020, and Jan. 18, 2021, PLEASE do NOT come to the courthouse in person. The Jury Trial Status Conferences before the trial date remain as currently scheduled and require appearance by WebEx for re-scheduling of the trial date.

2. Except for charges involving Domestic Violence, ALL ARRAIGNMENTS, including traffic cases, MUST be conducted virtually by WebEx. 
Your current arraignment date will remain as scheduled. The Court will attempt to notify you by phone, email or text of the WebEx link to access the virtual court. Please do NOT come to the courthouse.  
TRAFFIC ARRAIGNMENTS: If you have a traffic arraignment currently scheduled between Nov. 30, 2020, and Jan. 18, 2021, PLEASE do NOT come to the courthouse in person. 3. All Domestic Violence cases, the arraignment shall remain as an IN-PERSON mandatory appearance.
 
4. PRE-TRIAL Conferences: ALL scheduled Pre-Trial Conferences MUST be conducted virtually by WebEx. 
Your current Pre-Trial Conference date will remain as scheduled. The Court will attempt to notify you by phone, email or text of the WebEx link to access the virtual court. Please do NOT come to the courthouse.

5. 6. If you have an attorney, PLEASE check first with your attorney about the status of your case BEFORE calling the Municipal Court.

Courthouse Access

Access to the courthouse is STRICTLY limited to those people who:
Have ACTIVE bench warrants;
Appear to make payment;
Appear on docket matters that has been pre-approved for in-person appearance;

Scheduled appointments.
