The city of Aurora is offering two free cleanup days in 2019 where residents can dispose of large household waste not appropriate for curbside pickup. Residents can bring their items to mobile trash compactors at the sites below:

8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019
8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Important notes:
- Sites may close early if the compactor is full
- Participants must show proof of residency with a driver’s license, utility bill or other identification with an Aurora address
- City staff will be on-site to assist with questions but cannot help unload vehicles or lift items into the compactors; please be prepared to perform these tasks yourself
- Please bag or bundle all materials
- Do not pack bags or bundles more than 40 pounds
- No enclosed packing trucks (for example, U-Hauls) or large commercial vehicles allowed (this event is for residential trash, not commercial)
- Oversized vehicles may be turned away
- Please cut all long pieces of material to lengths no longer than 4 feet
Acceptable items
- Limbs, yard clippings, leaves, wood, etc.
- Wood, drywall, windows, decking, flooring
- Small appliances, metal flashing, metal furniture, household metals
- Household trash, furniture, linens, clothes, toys, bikes, play equipment (broken down into 4-foot pieces)
Prohibited items
- Concrete, brick, block, dirt, asphalt, railroad ties, large stumps, fertilizers, rocks
- Paints/stains, chemicals
- Refrigerators, freezers, A/C units, any appliances with Freon, lawn mowers, TVs
- Mattresses
- Hazardous or biohazardous waste, needles, syringes, hot tubs
- Tires, car/truck batteries, vehicle fluids, motor oil plastic bottles, windshield glass
