Colorado State Capitol in Denver
Regional cooperation is key to the city’s success. As such, the city frequently interacts with federal, state and local governments, as well as with intergovernmental organizations such as the Colorado Municipal League and the Denver Regional Council of Governments.
The state of Colorado is divided into seven congressional districts. Of these seven districts, the city of Aurora is represented by the 6th Congressional District. U.S. Congressman Mike Coffman represents the 6th Congressional District.
Colorado, like all states, has two U.S. senators: Sen. Cory Gardner and Sen. Michael Bennett.
The Colorado General Assembly consists of 100 members: 65 in the House of Representatives and 35 in the Senate. The city of Aurora’s legislative delegation consists of five members of the Senate and seven members of the House of Representatives.
