Celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by sharing what his dream means to you through Aurora Public Library's Art, Poetry and Essay Contest!

Using a medium of your choice, create a piece of art in response to the 2022 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration prompt below. 


What does Dr. King's dream mean to you and how can you help realize the dream?



Rules & Guidelines:
- Open to children & teens grades K - 12
- Submissions may be in the form of an essay, poem or visual art (any medium)
- Essays should be 500 words maximum, typed or handwritten on single-sided paper
- Visual art submissions must be 2D and should not exceed 12x12 inches
- Submission deadline is Friday, Dec. 17, 2021.

Print off an entry form here or pick one up at any Aurora Public Library. Submit work in-person at any Aurora Public Library; by mail to Outreach & Programming, Aurora Public Library, 1298 Peoria St., Aurora, CO 80011; or by email to [email protected] (essays and poetry only). Winners will be notified by phone or email.
