2021 Residential Rate Tiers

Aurora Water will have a new residential water rate tier structure beginning in 2021.

Affordability, especially regarding water for the life, health and safety of our community, is a priority any time rates are being considered. Aurora Water currently uses a three-tier rate structure, so when we incur increased costs, all customers end up paying higher rates. For 2021, a new tier has been created for residential rate payers that captures internal use, up to 5,000 gallons per month. This tier can now be protected during future rate increases and will not be subject to surcharges during droughts. The remaining tiers have been realigned to capture the true impact that higher water-use places on Aurora Water’s system.
