Real Property

The city of Aurora requests written proposals from qualified for-profit commercial tenants to construct, finance and operate a legally permissible, physically possible, financially feasible and maximumly productive facility under the terms of a long-term, fair market rent, ground lease with the city for the city-owned land located at 23951 E. Sixth Parkway, Aurora, CO 80018. 

To be eligible to submit a proposal, a tenant must obtain the RFP documents and addenda from the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System (“BidNet”) site at RockyMountainBidSystem.com. Proposals must be addressed and submitted as follows: One (1) electronic copy of the proposal shall be through the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System website. Proposals will be accepted until 3 p.m. Jan. 29, 2024. No late submissions will be considered. Only those proposals that are received through BidNet, prior to the deadline noted above shall be considered. Delivery to the Aurora Municipal Center building, mail room, or to any other department within the city of Aurora, does not constitute proper or adequate delivery. The respondent assumes the risk of their method of delivery.

A virtual pre-Proposal conference on Microsoft Teams is scheduled from 9 to 10 a.m. Jan. 9, 2024. Attendance at the pre-proposal conference is not mandatory but is highly recommended. The Real Property Services Division in the city's Public Works Department is responsible for acquiring, leasing and disposing of city-owned property. The division also provides surveying services to city departments, including boundary, design and construction, and maintaining a robust horizontal and vertical control network to aid private surveyors and firms with their work in Aurora.

Mineral rights leases and other matters related to oil and gas are handled by the city's Oil and Gas Division.

The Land Development Review Services team is responsible for development application referral reviews of subdivision plats, annexation plats, site plans, easement/right-of-way dedications and releases by separate instrument, research, development-related licensing, development review meetings, and fiber/wireless communications facilities licensing.
