The Aurora Police Department Traffic Section is investigating an Auto Vs. Pedestrian Crash that occurred on East Arapahoe Road Saturday night.

At around 10:00p.m. a Chevy sedan was traveling Eastbound in the far right lane of the 14700 block of East Arapahoe Road. The vehicle struck an adult male who was walking in the lanes of traffic.  That section of roadway was not illuminated by street lights at the time of the accident.  The male pedestrian was pronounced at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

The name of the pedestrian is not being released at this time and will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Officer once he has been positively identified and his next of kin have been notified of his death.

The investigation into the cause of this crash is in it's early stages and is on-going. Any witnesses who did not stop and remain at the scene are asked to contact the Aurora Police Traffic Investigations Unit.
