(January 18, 2020)  UPDATE:  The Aurora Police Department has learned the condition of the injured party is critical but stable at an area hospital.

We do not believe there is a threat to the general public from this incident.

(January 18, 2020). On January 18, 2020 about 2:34 a.m. officers from the Aurora Police Department responded to 2155 South Rifle Way for a report of a possible shooting.

Upon arriving officers found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Life rendering measures were applied by officers on scene. The male was transported to a local hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.

During the investigation detectives learned the resident was awoken by strangers in his apartment. There was a struggle between the resident and the strangers. During that struggle a firearm was discharged and the one party was injured.

This investigation is continuing and we are working to determine if there is any connection between the parties involved.

This case is being investigated by the Aurora Police Department Major Crimes/Homicide Unit.

We are asking if anyone has information about this case to please contact Agt. N. Huber. At 303-739-6090.

Tipsters can remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward of up to $2000 by calling Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867)
