On Thursday October 12, 2017 at 9:26 p.m. officers from the Gang Intervention Unit were investigating a possible stolen vehicle in the 1000 block of South Fairplay Way.

Officers approached the vehicle and upon contact with two juvenile males a shot was fired by one of the officers. Both males were removed from the vehicle and detained. No injuries were sustained by the males or the involved officers.

The officer has been placed on paid administrative leave.

The investigation is being handled by the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit in conjunction with the Denver Police Department.

At this point the investigation has revealed that there is no danger to the public.
