APD Investigating Officer Involved Shooting  
UPDATE: The suspect in Sunday's officer involved shooting incident at the Robinwood Condominium complex has been released from the hospital and arrested by Aurora Police.

Keith A. Roberts Jr. was arrested and booked into the Aurora Detention Center on the following charges:
  1. Possession of a Weapon By A Previous Offender
  2. Felony Menacing with a Deadly Weapon
  3. Felony Vehicular Eluding
  4. Warrant for Felony Drugs out of Denver County

Additional charges may be presented to the 18th Judicial District Attorney's Office as the investigation progresses.

Information previously released on June 18th, 2017:

On June 18th at approximately 12p.m. officers from the Denver Police Department, District 5 responded to a report of a felony menacing involving a gun in the area of Elemendorf Place and Tulsa Way.  A short time later Denver Officers located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle in area of East 45th Avenue and North Peoria Street.  When the Denver Officers attempted to make a traffic stop the suspect fled and Denver Police initiated a pursuit which entered the city of Aurora. At one point during the pursuit the suspect pointed a gun at pursuing officers.

The pursuit ended at the entrance of the Robinwood Condominium complex at East Alameda Parkway and East Ohio Avenue after the suspect lost control of his vehicle and crashed. During that time shots were fired by officers from the Denver Police Department. The suspect was struck and transported to a local hospital. He is expected to survive his injuries. A gun was recovered from the suspect's vehicle.

The identity of the suspect, who is an adult male is not being released at this time.

Since this officer involved shooting occurred in the city if Aurora the Aurora Police Department Major Crimes/Homicide Unit will be the lead investigating agency. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Agent Steve Conner at 303.739.6190.
