On the afternoon of September 2, 2018, at approximately 1:38 p.m., officers with the Aurora Police Department responded to the area of East Alameda Avenue and South Potomac Street on the report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers were able to determine that the shooting had occurred outside of a nearby 7-11, located at 13690 East Alameda Avenue. Officers responded to a local hospital after learning that several victims had made their way to the hospital for treatment of apparent gunshot wounds. One of the victims has been pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The Aurora Police Department Major Crimes/ Homicide Unit has taken over this criminal investigation. Detectives are working tirelessly to identify who is responsible for the shooting. We are asking members of the public to come forward with any information pertaining to this incident. The deceased victim will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office at a later date, pending the notification of next of kin. There is no further information available for public release at this time.
