(November 12) A 20 y/o woman died following a single vehicle crash near South Tower Road and East Girard Avenue.
On November 12, 2022 at 00:45 a.m. Aurora 911 began receiving calls about a crash at the intersection of South Tower Road and East Girard Avenue. Officers responded to the scene and found a gray Dodge Charger near the northwest corner. The adult male driver and adult female passenger were both transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Sadly, the woman did not survive and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Her identification will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office after next of kin has been notified.
The initial investigation determined the Charger was traveling south on South Tower Road. The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed in the intersection of East Girard Avenue. Speed is believed to be a factor.
The Aurora Police Department Traffic Investigation responded to the scene and closed the intersection for several hours so they could collect evidence, photograph the scene, and take necessary measurements. The investigation is ongoing and will determine if any other factors contributed to the crash. If you witnessed the crash or have any information, and you have not already spoken to investigators, please contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720.913.STOP (7867).
This is the 43rd traffic related fatality of 2022.
