One man was arrested Thursday night following a fatal shooting outside a business in the Centretech neighborhood in central Aurora.
Lloyd Clifford Love, 35, of Aurora was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder.
Aurora police officers initially responded at 7 p.m. to a report of a trespass in the 16800 block of Centretech Parkway. While officers were enroute to the scene, the call was upgraded to a report of a shooting somewhere on the property.
When officers arrived, they learned the shooting stemmed from a dispute between an employer and a former employee. Officers and EMS responders provided lifesaving measures, which unfortunately were unsuccessful and the victim was pronounced dead.
Additional officers responded and set up a perimeter to search for the known suspect, who left the scene before officers arrived. Aurora SWAT was in the area and responded to assist with the search for the suspect. Aurora officers were also joined by APD K9 officers and fugitive team and the Denver Police helicopter.
Officers and SWAT located a vehicle, performed a high-risk traffic stop, confirmed the suspect was a passenger in the car and arrested him without further incident.
If you have any information about this shooting, and did not speak to detectives on scene, you are asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720.913.STOP (7867). Tipsters could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000 and may remain anonymous.
