On September 25th, 2019 at 1211 pm, Aurora Dispatch received calls of a crash in the intersection of S. Havana St and E. Iliff Ave. During the course of the investigation a it was determined the lights at the intersection were out due to a power outage. A motorcycle driven by an adult male was crossing the intersection when another vehicle struck the motorcyclist and then 3 other vehicles. The motorcyclist was pronounced at the scene.

One other driver of the secondary vehicles was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The crash is being investigated at this time. The Arapahoe County Coroner’s office will release the victim’s name once identified.

Traffic investigator’s after reviewing all information and toxicology reports will make a final determination of final charges at a later date.
This incident marks the 21st traffic related fatality in Aurora for 2019.

 

Drivers are reminded when an intersection has no traffic signals to act as the intersection is a four-way stop, then to proceed with caution.
