Mortgage Assistance Program

Notice: As of March 15, 2024, the city is no longer accepting applications for this program as funding has depleted. 

The Aurora Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program assistsNeighborhood Image eligible homeowners who have experienced financial hardship associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. The program uses federal funds from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to help homeowners get caught up on past-due housing payments, property taxes, insurance and housing utilities. 

Expenses covered by this program

  • Mortgage assistance

  • Mortgage reinstatement assistance  

  • Homeowner association fees or liens 

  • Condominium association fees  

  • Homeowner’s utilities (including electric, gas, home energy and water)  

  • Payment assistance for delinquent property taxes   

  • Homeowner’s insurance payment assistance
